In 2016, ‘SMITHS’ partnered with Nordoff Robbins, the local London based charity dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people through music therapy.

‘SMITHS’ partnered with Nordoff Robbins and music therapy because of the support the charity provides to thousands of people living with a wide range of physical and emotional needs.  From helping a child with autism to communicate, the unlocking of forgotten memories for those living with dementia or providing comfort to someone facing a terminal illness – Nordoff Robbins supports a wide mix of people, in the same way that ‘SMITHS’ caters for all sorts of guests and appetites.

Funds are already being raised at ‘SMITHS’ when guests purchase the best-selling breakfast dish on the menu. For every single Breakfast Number 1 that’s purchased, ‘SMITHS’ will donate 30p to Nordoff Robbins. The charity partnership has already proved to be a big hit with customers’ as sales of Breakfast Number 1 have increased dramatically since the donation was announced. In addition to that our customers will have the option of adding £1 to their bill which goes directly to show support for the Nordoff Robbins
Music Therapy Charity. We’ve given ourselves a challenging target to raise £10,000 over the festive season. As of 1 February 2017 we’ve raised over £7,000.

A number of fundraising activities and charity evenings will also be taking place at ‘SMITHS’, including an exciting Pop Quiz night launching early 2017. Members of the ‘SMITHS’ team are also getting involved in fundraising personally, through a number of physical and mental challenges. This includes Nordoff Robbins’ epic obstacle course, named ‘Hero Challenge’ along with the participation in a tough half marathon.

‘SMITHS’ will also support a range of amazing Nordoff Robbins events throughout the year, including their annual awareness day, ‘Get Loud’ in 2017. The event sees some of the biggest names in music perform a series of exclusive intimate gigs, and encourages the general public to get involved and raise money through their own activities, so keep your eyes peeled for more!
